SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER CONTAINS SIMPLE INGREDIENTS

  • SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER contains only five simple all natural ingredients, no fillers, extenders or boosters - only Non-GMO Canadian Toasted Soy, Soy Oil, Granulated Cane Sugar, Monoglyceride (from vegetable oil) and Sea Salt. Because of our unique processing, we start with only whole soybeans in order to capture all of the nutrition inherent in soy including Calcium, Iron, Potassium, Folate, Omega 3 oil, complete protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber (both soluble and insoluble) and a natural balance of oils in the exact same way as nature intended.
  • IM Healthy Original SoyNUT Butter contains: Roasted Soybeans, Soy Bean Oil, Maltodextrin, Granulated Cane Juice, Mono and Diglycerides (Derived from Vegetable Oil), Salt.

IM Healthy SoyNut Butter contains a significant amount of Maltodextrin. SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER does not use cheaper fillers such as maltodextrin/corn syrup solids and thus has a higher percentage of all major nutrients. Manufacturers often use maltodextrin to lower costs. Except in certified organic products, those ingredients are almost always from gmo corn sources. Most consumers wish to avoid gmo’s if at all possible. Maltodextrin/corn syrup solids are almost pure glucose starch, thus creating high glycemic response, which of course medical knowledge now shows to be a leading cause of childhood obesity and diabetic symptoms.

IM Healthy may also contain soy protein ISOLATE (a very highly processed product) which manufacturers sometimes need to add to bring protein levels up to standard. (See next paragraph relative to the protein level comparisons) The protein level in our SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER made with whole soybeans is the same as that in peanut butter, but without the need for adding protein isolates. Many studies have shown that eating the whole food is always better than eating an isolate of something.

NUTRITIONAL DIFFERENCES

At first glance in looking at the labels of these two products, they look pretty similar. However, a series of lab reports on both products over the past two years has shown SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER superior to IM Healthy in many ways. And in fact, these tests show that IM Healthy labels have some significant inaccuracies that should be of concern. You can see the most recent lab reports here.

Notice the difference in PROTEIN in particular—which is of course one of the very most important nutritional components you want - 7 grams per svg vs 5 grams per svg, meaning SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER contains 33% more protein. And an inaccuracy in labeling of IM Healthy SoyNut Butter of almost 30%. The % of Fat was also way out of line, with IM Healthy containing almost 30% more fat than what is stated on the label.(14g vs 11g) Additionally, the sodium levels of the IM Healthy SoyNut Butter are more than 10 % higher than the sodium content of SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER. MORE ECONOMICAL PRICING

SCHOOLSAFE SOYBUTTER is a far better value than IM Healthy with 17 % more product per jar (contains 17.6 oz vs 15 oz for IM Healthy), and the retail price is equal to or even less than IM Healthy at most stores.
